AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) ILLINOIS HOMESTEAD FOLK ART DRAWING, pencil, charcoal, and colored pencil on paper, depicting a landscape view of a homestead with two houses and a red barn, featuring fencing in the foreground lining a road, titled "CARL PETERSON POPLAR GROVE ILL." along the bottom edge, signed and dated "AJP 1868" in the lower left corner. Housed under acrylic in a period grain-painted frame. Dated 1868. 12 1/4" x 8 1/2" sight, 15" x 11 1/4" OA.
Good visual condition with overall toning, some spotting, and slight wrinkling to paper. Frame with wear. Not examined out of frame.
Provenance: The collection of the late Theodore "Ted" and Alvina Breckel, Oley, PA and Winnetka, IL.
