AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART MEMORIAL THEOREM, watercolor and pencil on paper, vibrant, large-scale composition featuring a bust-length profile depiction of a young man within a floral surround, flanked by fruit arrangements, a floral arcade above, and a grassy ground beneath, no signature located, retains an Old Print Shop label attached verso. Housed under glass in a period molded giltwood frame. Descended in the Fessenden Family of Boston, MA. Second quarter 19th century. 14 3/4" x 19 1/4" sight, 19 3/4" x 24 3/8" OA.
Very good overall visual condition with minor toning and discoloration, a few minor fold lines and edge tears. Frame with minor to moderate wear, horizontal crack at upper right edge.
Provenance: The collection of the late Theodore "Ted" and Alvina Breckel, Oley, PA and Winnetka, IL.
