Description
United States, Native American, Stone County, Arkansas, ca. 1200 to 1400 CE. A rare pottery vessel of an abstract calabash form made from shell-burnished clay. The vessel features a large, spherical body, a thin neck, and three squash-shaped legs. What truly sets this vessel apart is the rare "blonde" coloration. Although unengraved, the form most closely associates with the Blakey Engraved type, found in this region of Arkansas. Size: 6.5" W x 10.5" H (16.5 cm x 26.7 cm)
