Likely Russia, 19th Century. Finial in the form of a bird resting on a ball with sculpted flowers surrounding. Below, sculpted with a miniature torah crown with pierced foliate motifs and bells. Surrounded by sculpted flowers. Crown comprised of cut work pieces attached to each other adorned with bells and applied animal figures. Marked 84 sterling. 48 cm high; 26 cm diameter. Provenance: The Rubin Levine Collection, John and Johanna Bass purchased from Sotheby's Parke Bernet New York, on Oct. 10, 1974, sale #3675, lot 6; John and Johanna Bass Collection; Bass Museum of Art after 1979.
