Description

1. ERICH EINHORN. Rainy Day, 1953. 6.3x8.6" gelatin silver print, unmounted. Printed c 1960. Signed, titled in Czech, and dated 1953 in pencil on print verso; inscribed in pencil: 8758.

Eric Einhorn was born in Czechoslovakia in 1928. He became one of the top Czech photojournalists and documentary photographers in the 1950s-1970s. He published a monograph in 1958 entitled "Einhorn, Erich:Prager Alltag". Einhorn's images are in the collections of the George Eastman House and the Museum fur Kunst und Gewerbe. Einhorn is listed in the George Eastman House database. Einhorn died in 2006.

Condition

Fair. Surface wear, area of yellow discoloration on bottom right edge of print, corner and edge wear. Print recto shows extensive brown spotting.
