She in a dark purple dress with white lace collar and gold beaded necklace, the ends tied in a bow. He wearing a black frock jacket over a patterned vest, raised collar white shirt and black tie. Both sitters are identified on reverse with later genealogical family records. William Haines was born December 26th, 1807 in Cabot, Vermont. He and his second wife Caroline Eaton (b. November 14th, 1816) were married September 19th, 1836. They had two children, Mary Caroline (b.1839) and son Ezra W. (b.1843). Williams occupation is listed as that of a farmer in the 1850 Caledonia County, Vermont census. Both are interred in Cabot, Vermont, William March 15th, 1885 and Caroline July 6th, 1901.
