The Ludgate Monthly was a London-based monthly magazine which featured short fiction and articles of general interest which appealed to the family. It was published in three series, under different titles, from May 1891 to February 1901, then it merged with another magazine. The grouping here contains the very first issue of the Ludgate Monthly and features a story by Rudyard Kipling titled The Last Relief. There are four volu,es from the Ludgate Monthly series, three from the Ludgate Illustrated series, and seven from the Ludgate series. The volumes range in size from 9 1/2 x 6 3/4 to 11 x 7 1/2 in wide, and the two yellow vollumes are lightly soiled.
