A Large Japanese Satsuma Vase by Chikusai
Meiji period (1868-1912), porcelain very finely hand painted in raised polychrome enamels and gilt with a pair of birds nestled amid elegant peonies, chrysanthemums, bamboo, and airy gilt clouds, the neck is encircled with an Art Nouveau pattern band and lappet collar, signed at lower side of body Satsuma Chikusai in gilt with a blue Shimazu mon crest.
