Description
A pair of George II sterling silver tea tongs / sugar nips, London circa 1750 by P.G in a shaped rectangular punch (untraced) with parallel arms terminating in with broad five-lobed shell grips. Marked with lion passant (pre-1755) and makers mark only to one finger ring. Together with a George II pair, London circa 1750 by John Gorham, similarly formed, the fulcrum hinge engraved with initials S over T.M in Roman script. Also, to include an unmarked pair circa 1740, with chamfered demi-lune and scroll arms terminating in broad five-lobed shell grips, with plain finger rings.
