AN ITALIAN NEOCLASSICAL PARCEL GILT AND FAUX MARBLE PAINTED WOOD JARDINIÈRE, LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY, the faux painted carved marble serpentine rectangular body with gadrooned rim, above a central faux lapis lazuli painted and framed roundel, flanked by two carved rings suspending a long berried laurel garland above a base rim of ringed floret banding, raised on a circular socle and acanthus leaf detailed base, enclosing a conforming zinc interior liner. Height: 32" Width: 31" Depth: 10" Provenance: Private Collection, Pearland, Texas.
Condition
Good antique condition with expected areas of gilding wear, age shrinkage cracks, normal chips, scuff marks, scratches, discolorations, small area of flaking paint at base, and surface buildup in crevices throughout.? ?
