Description

Pair of Italian Carved and Parcel-Gilt Wood and Marble Figural Pedestals

20th century, in the baroque style, the shaped portoro marble tops above standards with polychromed and parcel-gilt figures of courtiers against carved and pierced scrollwork, and standing on portoro marble bases.
h. 40-3/4", w. 38-1/4", d. 11"

Condition

Both tables have repairs and regilding to their left scrollwork supports. Both have some inpainted "touch -ups" from previous nicks. Both have scattered flaking, nicks and chips to their pigment, gilding and gesso-ground - all of which is commensurate with age, material and use. Marble tops with some small chips to their edges. In overall good condition.
