A MID-CENTURY MODERN PAINTED CORK AND BLEACHED MAPLE DRESSER, DESIGNED BY PAUL FRANKL, FOR JOHNSON FURNITURE CO, GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN, CIRCA 1950, of rectangular form with top and sides covered in a beige painted cork, enclosing lightly bleached maple faced three short top drawers over four matching lower drawers and each mounted with circular silver metal and cork handles, raised on tapering circular brushed steel feet, interior top left drawer with circular brand "JOHNSON FURNITURE CO / GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.," enclosing a three armed swirling mark. Height: 45" Width: 40" Depth: 21" Note: Paul Frankl (American 1886-1958) for Johnson Furniture Co. circa 1950. Provenance: From the Estate of Joseph Gregg, San Antonio, Texas.
Condition
Good vintage condition with the cork top and sides having expected surface buildup, small chips, dings, some worn or nicked edges, normal marks, scratches, and surface buildup throughout.
