Description:
Ridgway Salt Glaze Pitcher and Salt Glaze Apostle Pitcher, 19th Century, a large salt glazed pitcher depicting a tavern scene and a man on horseback being chased by two women (stamped 'Published by, W. Ridgway & Co, Hanley, October 1, 1835' on base), together with a white salt glazed Apostle pitcher with metal spout depicting eight gothic niches with ecclesiastical statues (with mark 'Registered, March 17th, 1847, by Charles Meigh, Hanley' on base). Size of smaller pitcher: 9 3/4 in. x 7 1/2 in. x 5 in.Measurements: Height: of larger 10 1/2 in. x Width: 8 in.
Condition
Good condition, two firing cracks on interior of larger pitcher, hairline crack on bottom join of handle and chip to outer edge of handle on larger pitcher, chips to edge of base on small white pitcher.
