Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A gorgeous pair of necklaces each comprised of dozens of Roman glass beads of spherical form, all boasting rich hues of cobalt and strung onto modern strands with lobster claw clasps to be wearable. Both dazzling adornments feature a series of modern spacer beads of tubular form boasting lustrous shades of gold on the first necklace and silver on the second. The glass beads of each necklace gradually increase in size toward the center where they display a pair of protruding glass beads capped by a spacer bead, creating a beautiful pendant-like embellishment. A stunning pair of adornments from the ancient Roman Empire with the rare ability to serve as something old, something blue, and something new for a blushing bride! Size of longest necklace: 23" L (58.4 cm); Size of largest bead: 0.125" L x 0.25" in diameter (0.3 cm x 0.6 cm)

Wearable. All glass beads are ancient, while strands, clasps, and spacer beads are modern. Losses to at least 9 beads. Some minor nicks and abrasions to a few beads. Otherwise, excellent.
