Two Longton Hall Porcelain Leaf-Shaped Dishes
Circa 1755, unmarked
In the Chelsea style, each naturalistically molded as a broad cabbage leaf with puce veins and curved stock handle, the center painted with a tight bouquet of roses and other flowers, within shaded yellow and green borders.
Height overall 10 1/2 inches.
Provenance:
Colonel J.H.H. Robinson Collection.
Christie's, London, 22 February 1972, lot 65.

Condition
Minor chips to both rims, one with a hairline (approx. 1 3/4 in..) and a short firing line at the handle terminal, the other with a meandering firing fault at the tip, both with kiln abrasion to the stem, very minor stacking wear to yellow enamel on one.
