Color lithographed poster on card stock. 56x36 cm (22x14").
Rare post-WWI poster. No copies listed in OCLC. With ownership inscription of noted collector "A.J. Leonard, Jr. M.D. S.F. Post #1, 1927" on the back along with his address rubberstamp and two rubberstamps of the California Historical Society dated 1927.
Alexander Thomas Leonard Jr. was prominent physician, long time trustee of the California Historical Society, and civic leader. He served with distinction in WWI, and after the war he became active in the American Legion, serving San Francisco No. 1, as Commander. He was an avid collector of Californiana, his residence being a museum of paintings, books, and pamphlets relating to the West.
Condition
Some mostly marginal foxing, a bit of corner wear; very good.
