Early coin silver cream pot, Saunders Pitman, Providence, RI, circa 1800, having typical helmet form body, ridged strap handle, and square base. The rim, edge of circular base area, and base corners are profusely engraved. Engraved bowknot and festooned shield flanked by draped fronds with engraved script monogram ''JPL'' on front. The surface with a fine color and overall exceptional condition. All the engraving is in especially fresh and crisp condition. Maker's mark ''PITMAN'' in delicately serrated rectangular cartouche. 7-1/4''h. Total approximate weight 5.7 troy oz.
