Description
**First Time At Auction**
Central Asia, Tibet, ca. mid-20th century CE. A beautiful personal table altar shaped from high-grade (95%) silver with a bell-shaped lower body and a horizontal discoid neck. A large fragment of creamy-yellow amber is encased within several leafy tendrils which project outward from a central bulb-shaped housing. Both sides of the upper body depict a wondrous dragon flying upward toward a pair of parrots which flank either side of an inlaid turquoise stone. The neck is skillfully decorated with dense latticework patterns, and the lower body displays a raised program of mythical animals beneath a petaled upper cap. Size: 4.1" W x 6.9" H (10.4 cm x 17.5 cm).
Provenance: Estate of R. Pearson, Denver, Colorado, USA; Mr. Pearson collected from the third quarter of the 20th century until he passed away., acquired at Arte Primitivo Gallery, New York, New York, USA

Condition
Minor abrasions to upper body, neck, and lower body, with light softening to some finer details, and minor encrustations, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits and nice patina to silver components.
