Louis XV-Style Kingwood and Marble-Top Commode

20th century, the rouge marble top with a slightly bowed center, above a conforming bombe case fitted with two short drawers over two long drawers, all with inset parquetry veneers and finely figured ormolu mounts, raised on splayed legs ending in sabots.

The case is tight and solid, exhibiting no movement at its glue joints. Very minor mars, shrinkage and rubbing. There are several colored and filled veneer losses. There is one veneer loss to the stile/upright flanking the middle drawer, about 1/8" by 1/4" by 1/4". On one side, along the back edge against the wall, is a loss of about 3/8" by 1/2", and on that same side near the bottom of the leg are losses of about 1/2" by 3/4" and 1/2" by 2". Professionally repaired break to the top. Locks are present; no key. The center top drawer is locked. The middle wide drawer needs stops.
