George III Painted and Parcel-Gilt Settee
Attributed to Mayhew and Ince, circa 1775
The striped silk padded serpentine back, sides and arms within a reel-carved molded frame and centering a loose-cushioned serpentine seat, raised on tapering fluted legs. Height 38 inches (96.5 cm), length 72 inches (182.8 cm), depth of seat 22 inches (55.9 cm).

Distressed condition, losses to painted and gilt decoration throughout, later corner blocks to framing, cramp-cuts to corners, worm damage to top of left front leg, one support to underfrare with repaired break and now with reinforcement, old marks and scratches, scuffs to legs and feet.
