This Chemehuevi basket was part of a pivotal collection amassed in the early 20th century by one Francis Xavier Ammann. His collection consisted of over 2,100 baskets and when Francis passed away, his son sold most of the collection to settle his estate.This darling small woven basket is Native American and comes from the Chemehuevi Tribe. There are stamped numbers on the bottom, L.1190 and 1875. 5in tall x 5.5 in wide. Condition
There is a light red stain appearing on the bottom, but overall very good, ot fine.
