Description
Rome, Imperial, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A stunning glass ampulla boasting a globular body and an elongated neck that expands outwards to an annular rim, all sitting upon a concave, circular base. Boasting a beautiful translucent surface in a hue of light blue-green, the ancient vessel has been skillfully adorned with several lines of trailing of varying thickness in a vibrant shade of teal. Size: 2.625" in diameter x 5.125" H (6.7 cm x 13 cm)
A copy of a Certificate of Authenticity from the Archaeological Shop at the Hilton Hotel, Tel Aviv will accompany this lot, as well a signed personal card of Moshe Dayan (1915 to 1981 CE), an Israeli military leader and politician.

Condition
Collection number inscribed on base. Stable fissures to rim. Pontil scar to side of body indicating this vessel was free-blown. Encrustations across some of interior, with light weathering film. Otherwise, intact and excellent with lovely earthen deposits and great iridescence.
