George Hurrell: Hollywood Master of Portrait Photography, "Hurrell III" Veronica Lake, Anna May Wong, Barrymore, Crawford, Cagney & More (1904-1992) Credited for creating and conveying the glamour of Hollywood, George Hurrell was second to no one when it came to capturing through shadows and light the near incandescent beauty of his female subjects, and the matinee idol looks of his male portraits. His images are in museums world wide, his legacy equal to those he photographed.

From Hurrell III: A mint portfolio of 10 signed, limited edition, silver gelatin prints, actual with the actual image is 19 x 15½", the sheets just slightly larger. Hurrell's signature and edition notation 118/250, can be found in ink along bottom white margin. Photos with protective acetate overlays are housed in a burgundy cloth clamshell box which also includes a COA, an introduction to Hurrell by Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. testimonials, technical details and a printed acknowledgement by Hurrell that the photographs conform to his exact standards.

Hurrell III is likely the most in demand of the portfolios issued due to the portraits of Anna May Wong and Veronica Lake where individually, those portraits alone can command $800 to $1000 each, masterpieces both. The other performers featured are also quite excellent and include Joan Crawford, James Cagney, John Barrymore, Gene Tierney, a stunning Ann Sheridan, Charles Boyer, Gilbert Roland and premiere concert violinist Jascha Heifetz who actually appeared in three films in his career. These photos were taken between 1932-1944 and the edition issued in 1980.
