Description
Large hand painted and hand thrown shallow porcelain bowl. The bowl has been painted with a dark and thick cobalt that has had explosions and separations. The design on the bowl is of a fishing village in the rocky islands surrounded by the sea. The base of the bowl is glazed but the foot ring is not. The foot is slightly elevated and there are six sager marks on the base. The glaze is thick, smooth, soft and has a nice shine.
There are no marks or labels.

There are no chips, cracks, or breaks. There is wear to the central well of the bowl. This takes the shape of small irregular scratches that show usage and age. There are kiln flaws such as; tiny black dots, tiny bumps, cobalt explosions and one loss on the lower building. It shows very well.
A large showy Japanese porcelain that harkens back to the Ming dynasty. It has those deep lipid pools of blue into which you just want to stare.
