380 Beale St. opened in 1975 as the Muhammad Ali Towne Two Cinema, a two-screen movie theater in which the heavyweight boxing legend was a part owner for a time. It quickly became a nightclub and notorious locale for shootings, stabbings and other unpleasantries. During the 70Â’s a few concerts were held and we have one of the most rare BB king posters from that famed location. B.B. KING (B. B. King was billed as "the Beale Street Blues Boy) performed with the queen of Beale street Ruby Wilson and Papa Don McMinn whoÂ’s name is misspelled on the poster. Papa Don McMinn is a Memphis music legend. He was instrumental in the rebirth of the Home of the Blues: Beale Street in Memphis Tennessee. Later, during the mid-1980s, Papa DonÂ’s band had the "house gig" at Rum Boogie on the corner of Beale and Highway 61. laminated. About 15 x 20. Tape on reverse.
