This is a beautiful estate found watercolor painting dating to the early to mid 20th century. The original painting, by listed American artist Nathaniel Dirk (1895-1961), is titled August Holiday. The painting depicts a colorful seaside beach scene with sunbathers soaking in the rays as sailboats float by on the blue waves. It is signed on the lower right corner. The painting is framed under glass. The label on the back indicates it was part of an exhibition through the Rockport Art Association in 1989. The sales label shows it was sold for $3,500.00. - The frame is 34 x 27" with a sight view of 29 3/8 x 22 3/8". The painting within the matting is 21 5/8 x 14 1/2". The label on the back indicates to the total dimensions of the painting is 15 1/4 x 22 1/2".

In overall very good condition with only very minor foxing and toning to the matting. There are some dings to the frame. This condition is consistent with age and method of display/storage.
