Magnificent map covers all of southern India in great detail, from Bombay (Mumbai) to cape Comorin as well as Sri Lanka. Important ports essential for trade of jewels, spices, fabrics are shown, such as Goa, Pondicherry, Tranquebar, Calicut, Cananoor, Madras, among others. Many with european flags of countries which operated or occupied them. Rivers, roads, mountains, and interior cities are shown such as Golconda (Colconda) which provided the diamonds of the world at that time. Important temple cities like Madura also depicted. Decorated with a beautiful cartouche which incorporates a elephant presenting the reader of the title, and traders showing the goods for export below including cinnamon. 1762, by J. B.
