Japy Freres (French, 1806-1930s), second quarter 19th century. Black slate and mixed marble mantle clock having gilt bronze mounts and surmounted by a later figure of winged Victory. Retail marks for Pauplin Boivin, Chateauroux, with the case marked for Japy Freres, and case and pendulum stamped '2120' and '46'. Provenance: From the Lifetime Collection of Billy S. Arant, Jr., Chattanooga, TN. Approx. h. 16.25", w. 9.5", d. 5.5".

Later metal figure of Victory; scattered chips; some rubbing to lettering on face.
