Marx Dumbo Musical Mechanical Merry-Go-Round Tin Toy.

Item Details

Description

(Marx, c.1960s) A vintage tin-litho and plastic Dumbo Mechanical Musical Merry-Go-Round toy manufactured by Marx. When the integral key at the top of the central post is wound, the three Dumbo figures travel around the central hub, one pulling a wire mallet, which strikes the metal musical keys (one is constructed of fiberboard, as designed) arranged along the track as it passes. The mechanicals have been tested and are in working order. The base of the hub features tin-litho graphics of the Three Little Pigs and contains a metal slider switch that stops/starts the merry-go-round. Measuring 5.25"x8" in diameter, the piece is in very good condition with some minor surface wear and soiling. One of the pegs holding a metal musical key in place is absent and there is a slight bend to the central pole.
