Francois Antoine Maxime Lalanne (French, 1827-1886). An original signed 19th Century landscape etching titled BEUZEVAL, depicting a stretch of the Normandy coast in northeastern France with human figures and sailboats on the beach, and buildings, hills, and chateaux. Artist signed LALANNE to lower right, with note to lower left in French explaining that the site depicted was the same location used by William, Duke of Normandy (Guillaume de Normandie) to invade England (Angleterre) in the year 1066. Good condition with some foxing spots. Measures 5 3/4 in. x 9 in. (sight), 11 1/2 in. x 17 in. (border). Sold unframed. Estate fresh to the market.
