Description
**First Time At Auction**
Native American, southwestern United States, New Mexico, Acoma Pueblo, ca. 20th century CE, signed by "Little Hand". A gorgeous pottery bowl featuring a concave, circular base and impressively thin walls that swell to form a voluminous body, rounded shoulder, and gently flared, annular rim. This unique vessel is skillfully hand-painted with four brown birds in profile, each sitting upon a red-flowered branch and exhibiting four tail feathers, a long wing, a curved black beak, four vibrant red crown feathers, and a diamond-shaped and D-shaped motif decorating their bodies. Four beautiful floral arches, all connected, decorate the area above the birds' heads. The interior is painted a lovely shade of chocolate brown. Size: 12.25" in diameter x 8" H (31.1 cm x 20.3 cm)

Signed "Little Hand" on base. A few miniscule nicks to rim. Otherwise, excellent and intact with impressive remaining pigment and light earthen deposits on interior.
