**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Central Asia, Bactria, ca. 2100 to 1600 BCE. A hand-carved steatite stamp seal of a discoid form exhibiting dark green-gray hues and a perforated handle protruding from the verso. Incised on the stamp face is a stylized, right-facing eagle with a densely feathered body standing atop slender legs and an ovoid head with a petite eye behind an open beak. A quartet of serrated triangular foliate forms are engraved in the areas surrounding the bird, and the stamp edges feature a scalloped presentation. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 1.9" Diameter (4.8 cm)
