Description
Kienzle Grandfather Clock with key. Date is unknown, unable to locate the model numbers or a serial. This German clock is encased in a beautiful wooden stand and there is a floral design at the base. Simple yet elegant. Clock has a solid brass face with black numbers and dials, two heavy weights, and 4 chime rods. The wooden stand has two wooden slats that are removable for access to the movement. The cast iron is stamped DRGM and Orgel-Gong, Kienzle and wheel with wings below that name. In good vintage, looks to have been worked on in Orlando, FL, refer to photos. Approx. measures 19 3/4" x 10 1/2" x 6' 4 1/2" Kienzle is founded in 1822 in Schwenningen by Johannes Schlenker. The company soon fabricates 20,000 wall clocks and pendulum clocks per annum. In 1883 Jakob Kienzle marries into the Schlenker family and henceforward he contributes to the expansion of the company.
