GROUP OF EIGHT CARVED AND PAINTED WOOD BIRD SCULPTURES, CA. 1930. Including a hermit thrush on a driftwood branch by Del Higgins of Dexter, ME 7” H, a great blue heron on wooden slab with lichen and driftwood branch, ca. 1930 12" H, two seagulls on driftwood signed “Capt. E. Moore” on underside, ca. 1930, 5” H, a male cardinal on driftwood branch signed “Ed. Moore / Ellsworth Maine” 4 1/2” H, two carved seagulls on driftwood on green painted circular base by Maurice Day, Damariscotta, ME 13" H, a carved American bald eagle on stump, ca. 1930, 7 3/4” H, and two carved Canada geese, the first standing on oval base ca. 1900 3” H, the second in nesting position with PWC stamp on underside 2 1/2” H
Condition
The Great Blue Heron with dust and small paint crack to neck, the nesting seagull on the Maurice Day sculpture slightly loose, the bald eagle with loose legs, the standing Canada goose with wear at tail and beak.
