A musical adaptation of the Emlyn Williams play The Corn is Green, Bette Davis was set to reprise her role as the titual character Miss Moffat in the 1945 film version. Sadly, after opening for a short run in Philadelphia before an intended move to Broadway, the production was shut down due to Davis' extended illnesses.
