German Pewter Mounted Stoneware Stein, by Mettlach, #2373, 1899 date mark, 1/2-L, with alligator handle, depicting the founding of St. Augustine by the Spanish in 1565, centered with the Spanish coat of arms, flanked by images of the Fort Marion landmark and the old city gate, 8 1/2" high, 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". Interior hairline extending from top rim.
