Lot notes:
The two figures presented here, singer Marcelle Lender on the left and actress Eve Lavalliere on the right, at first appear juxtaposed incongruously. Lavalliere may be depicted in her role in Hamlet and Lender appears to be looking on perhaps in an unrelated perspective. The differing perspectives create a complex composition and an appropriate peek inside the mind of the artist.
