DANISH ROYAL COPENHAGEN SIGNED "ST USSING" PORCELAIN PLAQUE, concave circular form, depicting a tranquil scene in an earth tone palette featuring a bridge nestled among trees with "OCTOBER" printed below, signed "ST USSING" at bottom. Mark to top of rim includes green-printed crown with "ROYAL / COPENHAGEN" and underglaze blue hand-brushed "8419 / SM / St. USSING". Royal Copenhagen, Denmark. Late 19th/early 20th century. 13 3/4" D.

Provenance: From the Kauffman estate, St. Louis, MO.
Catalogue Note: Stephan Ussing (1868-1958) was a Danish painter employed at Royal Copenhagen between 1896-1930. This plaque hung in the home of the Kauffman family in St. Louis, Missouri. Images taken within the home circa 1909 feature the piece on the wall.
