Description
RUSSIAN KOVSH-FORM ENAMELED 0.875 SILVER OPEN SALT, kovsh form with handle, featuring enameled decoration of flower and leaf motifs with beaded borders. Russian hallmarks to base of a maker's mark for Ivan Saltykov of Moscow and an early trial kokoshnik hallmark with "84" zolotniki for 0.875 silver fineness and an assayer's mark for Ivan Lebedkin of Moscow. Total weight including non-silver components: 1.475 ozt. Circa 1898. 1 1/4" HOA, 3 1/4" LOA.
Very good overall condition with minor wear, some minor to moderate surface scratches and nicks, a minute dent to back of handle, a few minor flakes to enamel, one border bead with possible manufacturing imperfection or chip to enamel.
