CHINESE PAINTING OF FLOWERS & POEMS IN RUNNING SCRIPT

Zou Yigui (1686-1772) Qing dynasty official and painter. The name is Yuan Bao, Xiao Xiaoshan, and Rangqing, and the Second Knowing Old Man in the evening, from Wuxi, Jiangsu. In the fifth year of Yongzheng, he was the first scholar in the second class, and was awarded to the Hanlin Academy for editing. He is good at painting flowers, learns Yun Shouping's painting method, and has a delicate style. Once written "Hundred Flowers Juan", each type of poem, once submitted, the emperor also gave the inscription one hundred quatrains, and one gui reproduced one volume. Gonglu was made before each type, and the book was written after and hidden at home. He is the author of "Small Mountain Painting Book" and "Daya Sequel".
PROVENANCE:From The Estate of David George Glen (1924-2016) of Delaware, raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, the son of William and Agnes Glen. His formal education was completed at Daniels Stewarts College, Edinburgh, after which he entered the field of medicine. He was a certified rehabilitation specialist, serving in military and civilian hospitals in the United Kingdom. From 1942 to 1945, he served in the Royal Air Force. In 1955 David immigrated to the United States, becoming a citizen in 1961.
