A Chinese blue&white dragon pattern porcelain bowl
Ming dynasty, Xuande period
11.4 cm H x 29.2 cm Diam
The bowl is open and extravagant, with a slanted belly and round feet. The outer wall is painted with a blue and white dragon pattern. The flying dragon leaps among the auspicious clouds, with flying beards, a vigorous figure, and a sparse pattern layout. This product has a firm fetus and a shiny glazed surface, which is worth collecting.
PROVENANCE:From The Estate of Garold G. Darty(1930-2019) of Bear, DE. Born in Townsend, DE on June 29, 1930, Garold was a life-long Delaware resident. He served in the U. S. Army National Guard from 1948 until 1954. He worked as a surveyor for Delaware Dept. of Transportation for 37 years, from 1954 until retiring in 1991. A devoted family man, he especially loved family gatherings and crab feasts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, working in his yard, garden, and home. He was a faithful Phillies and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing all across the country and accomplished his goal of visiting 48 of the 50 states. Bud was a member of The United Methodist Church, Georgetown, where he served as an usher and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family.
