Description
Ancient Near East, Middle East, Syria to Northern Iraq, Proto-Literate Period, ca. 3500 to 3000 BCE. A hand-carved marble cylinder seal bead of a narrow form with a suspension hole drilled through the center. Inscribed across the exterior is a minimalist geometric motif of inversely corresponding chevrons with narrow horizontal striations placed intermittently across the linear patterns. Accompanied by custom putty impression included. Size: 0.6" W x 0.5" H (1.5 cm x 1.3 cm); 2.25" H (5.7 cm) on included custom stand.
