Description
A very beautiful Japanese WWII Katana sword in Shirasaya with the famous Star stamp blade.
Signature: Hizen Kuni Mitsuhiro
Showa 19 Nen 5 gatsu Kichijitsu.
To mention star stamp meaning traditionally made gendaito.
Explanation: The sword was made on May lucky day, Showa 19th
by Hizen Kuni Mitsuhiro approaching the end of the wartime.
Habaki: Copper single habaki with silver color.
Blade length: 63.3 cm or 25.0 inches.Sori:1.6 cm or 0.63 inches.
Width at the hamachi:3.08 cm or 1.21 inches.
Width at the Kissaki: 2.18 cm or 0.86 inches.
Kasane: 0.725 cm or 0.285 inches.
The weight of the blade 730 grams.
Era: Showa 19. 1944. Shape: The blade is wide and thick with Ubuha
and suitable sori and longer kissaki healthy blade.
Jigane:koitame had and small massage had mixed with jinie attach and chikei work.
Hamon :Nie deki middle suguha with kinsuji ,sunagashi work.
Special feature: Hizen Kuni Mitsuhiro was called Fukutaro Yamaguchi
and got the prize of the army’s appointed swordsmith
and got Nyusen prize and also Kaicyo syo(chairman’s prize)
He was born at Meiji 31st and studied under the Kurihara Akihide.
This sword is nice Jigane and also hizen style middle hamon with sunagashi,
kinsuji work in Hamon.
