Description
Traditionally made Japanese sword worn by Samurai in Feudal Japan.Measures 27" long.I just received information about the sword. We were able to see signature after a knowledgeable client told us how to remove the handle and I thank them for that. I attached pictures of tang and close-up of signature. Here's what I was told about the signature. "Often there is new rust under the handle and it becomes almost impossible to remove. This one is clean. The brown color has developed over several hundred years and should never be altered. The signature is "Inshu ju Kanesaki". There were several smiths of that name working in Inaba from the late 1500s up through the early 1800s. This looks like around 1650 or so." I wanted to share this with everyone and hope this answers questions asked and helps you with evaluating the sword. Again thanks to the valued client for this information. As found estate condition . Please use photos as part of the description. The absence of a condition report does not guarantee excellent condition. Please contact us for an in hand evaluation or additional photos if you need.
