PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Leroy Gaylor, Sr. (1933-2021) of Cartersville, Georgia. Private Collector, US Marine Corp Veteran, Engineers of major electrical company that helped build power grids in Asia.
Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, Xuande Iron Red Dragon Jar. This porcelain jar has an open mouth with a slightly out-turned lip, short neck, globular abdomen, heavy on mid, raised on flat round footed base. This jar in red and white fine color, is an excellent object on exterior with Imperial dragon are swimming in floating clouds, flame, above lishui waves. Which attracting unceasingly admiration. The clouds and dragon patterns are vivid and have distinctive characteristics of the times. Red is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. It was originated in the Qing Dynasty. The red color of the packet symbolizes good luck, corresponding with fire, symbolizes good fortune and joy. The glazes of the whole vase are colorful, gorgeous, and showing distinguished honor. ?
The Shoulder bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of XuanDe Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
