Description
A Space Shuttle Hold Down Frangible Nut. This nut was flown on the STS-83 mission. It was used to hold the Space Shuttle's Solid Rocket Boosters to the Mobile Launch Platform. This one shows the enormous forces exerted from the Shuttle during engine testing and just before launch. This one has the part number 64809/10306-00003-101 and a manufacture date of 11/1996. These are hard to find and this is a great example which measures 6 1/2" across and almost 4" tall. It weights in at 8 pounds. NOTE: Due to Federal ITAR regulations this item can only be sold to residents of the United States and cannot be shipped overseas.
