Exceptional studio ceramic and crystal resin platter, titled "River Patterns". One of two large pieces created by De Diego in 1950 as display fixtures for Stonelain, the ceramics division of Associated American Artists. Piece appears on the cover of the 2015 AAA "Art for Every Home" index and is listed as No. 71.1. Hand-signed De Diego and marked AAA SS underneath. Dimensions: H 2.5" x W 18" x D 12" Condition: A few nicks and one small chip to edge, crazing and small stress crack to bottom, likely inherent to glaze and aging.
