A 19TH CENTURY SHIP'S LOG APPARATUS WITH SPINNER
Item Details
Description
The various elements as shown including brass or bronze spinner, cast brass or bronze wheel with eyelet hubs, connecting lines and brass-cased gauge with porcelain enamel dial having chapter ring to register 100s of miles while a smaller inner dial records the increments of 1 mile signed WALKER'S PATENT CHERUB, signed on the dial and fins of the spinner.

Sizes range from 23 x 10 to 46 x 6 inches.

Provenance: The Paul Vardeman Marine Antiques Collection.
