Lot of 6 Antique Leather bound Psalm & Hymn Personal Books. All are hardback and vary in colors from brown, black, and red leather covers, some with gilt titles reading the names of the books owner. Three books belonging to Jared Pratt, two of them black and one red. The red book is Hymns and Spiritual songs of Rev. Isaac Watts. Published by Samuel T Armstrong of Boston. The black books are also Hymns and Spiritual songs of the Rev. Isaac Watts and published by Crocker and Brewster. The thickest brown leather book belonged to Mary J. Atwood. This book is of Hymns for the use of the Episcopal Church and published in New York by Lane and Scott in 1850. A smaller brown book with loose cover belonged to W.M. Dame and is marked in gold guilt. This Hymn book is designated for the Universalist Societies and was published in Boston in 1834. The sixth book and fourth name is Nathaniel Turner, some damage to red leather label with gilt print and marbled paper on endpapers. This is a collection of Psalms and Hymns for Christian Worship and was published in Boston in 1839.
Dimensions range from 6.25 in h x 4 in w x 1.75 in d to 6 in h x 3.25 in w x 1 in d . Condition is good. Wear to the overs and stains throughout. Foxing to pages and the cover is loose on one book. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
