A vintage painting of a sad clown (blanc) as opposed to a happy clown (auguste), depicted bust-length and presenting a rather somber expression comprised of soul searching eyes, thick black brows, a red nose, and unsmiling red lips with characteristically white skin, shaggy red hair, and a wide white collar. A wonderful piece - particularly for any fan of pantomime, clowns, circuses, and all things vintage - set in an ornately carved frame!
